Moonstone offer price increase

Discussion

Well, Scopley did it.....her offer is now $60 for a 3 star character. No communication to the community about the price increase. I hope this isn't the new trend....price increases...might reevaluate if I want to keep playing or quit.....

Ironically all they do is make me feel better about by making it to where I just don't spend money anymore. They are far better at helping my spending habits than I am

That is no joke man. I’ve been telling myself that she was going to be my last purchase for a while now. And now I legitimately feel better about that decision now, seeing how they have increased the prices. I’m like hell yeah, perfect timing.

Stopped spending last August, happier than ever.

Same. I used to throw a few bucks a month in but now I see deals I would have gotten pop up and just chuckle. I want to thank msf for teaching me a new view on life.

Basically waiting for an xfactor pack and need nothing else. Got all of MoE without a purchase. No need to spend. I’d want to spend if the prices for 50 shards didn’t make me lol

Does not matter to me ... since i am f2p. In fact, it is great if they can make more money from whales and krakens to subsidize my game play.

This is the right attitude haha, let them pay for everyone.

I can’t keep buying these offers. I used to buy the two initial $25 offers, and when it went to $50 i would buy one offer. Now with it being $60, I can’t do it.

Plus it’s $10 more for less shards.

And the offer right after that is the “Webstore Exclusive” for $49.99 with all the same shit.

Right! Like wtf are these guys smoking.

It was the same for Kang. Probably will be the new norm unfortunately

Yeah, and apparently there are ultra cores coming? Not sure if that’s real or not, but wouldn’t surprise me. A new premium currency to make the free cores obsolete makes perfect sense for Scopely.

legit this was one of the games I found to be f2p friendly back when I stated back in 2019. if they legit make it inaccessible for f2p, then they won't have anyone to try to convert and leave with just whales. how they expect alliances to survive without f2p players rounding out is beyond me.

If you go on the website on a tablet or computer, there is a tab showing up for ultra cores. Doesnt show on phones.

Prices going up because of supply chain problems. They've held off as long as they could, but they just can't take the hit on the price of importing the shards from overseas /s

Not to mention shipping on the cores!

You guys did this to yourselves.

I have TONS of gripes about this game, but how much characters cost isn’t one of them…cause I never buy them.

*insert DJ Khalid meme here

Do you understand how much money they probably made with the new changes?

Though it’s more indicative of people wanting the newest character, how the business side of Scopely would see it as, is the following:

  • Scopely increases prices to $60 to unlock

  • Players buy the offers in droves of tens of thousands, because they want the character.

  • Scopely instead sees this as players willing to buy the $60 offer, rather than seeing it as people wanting the character.

  • Scopely proceeds to push out the new price offers.

I guarantee if they pushed it to $70 (actual price of triple AAA games now), players would still buy the offers regardless, assuming they’d also want the character that the offer was behind.

On my end, I didn’t unlock Titania or Kang, so buying the offer to unlock Moonstone would be the stupidest fucking thing I could ever do (MoE is very literally useless without the entire team).

Nintendo: Tears of the Kingdom will be $70

Gamers: OMG, That is insane! We must Boycott! Nooooooo!

Scopely: All these millions for our broken game just aren’t enough… New 3 star characters will be $60 moving forward

Mobile Gamers: Thanks guys, I really feel a sense of pride and accomplishment when I unlock a new character now!

They all cheaper on webstore fyi…that is the original 45 offer is web exclusive

2
feuerkugel•

They want everyone to use the webstore so they don't have to provide a cut to Apple or Google of the sales.

2
Chaosbringer007•

Of course it’s the new trend, they’ve slowly increased in price with less rewards for a long time. You also don’t see many 45 unlocks these days either, making it harder to unlock for free (cores)

msheeziStar-Lord (T'challa)•

Wouldn't be surprised if the webstore offer says moonstone but returns moondragon shards and support's answer is some version of " can't refund, you claimed it"

2
ryanpoints•

On their website it’s $50 for a straight 100 shards. What a way to eliminate us Amazon coin spenders.

2
Creofury•

Yea, let me skip out on a new console game to get a 3 star character for one mode who will be power crept in 6 months.

Sorry new Zelda, Moonstone takes priority 😒😒😒

2
WildEman78•

I logged in this morning and noticed an alliance mate has her at 7y6r already. I can only wonder how much money that cost.

2
WalkingPunMachine•

Similar. Someone on my alliance has Kang at G17, 273k, 6Y/5R. Their third strongest toon.

South_Access9390•

I was going to say its always been then price via rounding up but yeah it was 49.99 not 59.99 Edit: with the store back up i can see the offers. The usual 49.99 offer is there, they just have multiple competing offers for more web upcs. Dont get why there are no orbs though.

Supply Chain!

The website has it for 50 dollars, in game it goes for 60 dollars.
