New England weather, depression and fatigue… Lupus wasn’t as bad in SoCal or Japan
Well, being a born and raised SoCal girl, maybe I’m still not used to the lack of sun? idk… haven’t gone in the sun much since I got my diagnosis, used to be tan up until I was 18 (2003) or so… I actually almost got in trouble when I was working at Denny’s in 2006, it was hard not to sound like a smartass when asked if I was wearing white socks, I just went “That’s my leg.” I miss swimming the most, and I miss hiking and camping and all the other outdoorsy things I used to do. If I get too much sun, I need to sleep A LOT! My Lupus wasn’t as bad in SoCal or Japan as it is here, I don’t know what it is here that’s different other than weather (California) and food (Japan). It rained all the time in Japan, but food was WAY healthier and, well, my area of CA is desert and always higher barometric pressure. Some old injuries are always mad at me now because of the rain/snow. I’m trying to eat healthier, but, my schedule sometimes doesn’t allow for it, I work closing shift at a grocery store deli. I’m often out at 10pm and my husband and I only have 1 car, so I have to take him to work at 6am on the Navy base. Is there anything that helps boost the energy level?
