How worried should I be?

NSFWAdvice

Hello everyone! I am not sure if this is the best place for this so please redirect me if it’s not.

I graduate in May 2023 with my bachelor’s degree and I am very excited to jump into the workforce.

Realistically, how many jobs will I have to apply to before I get one. My current job, which I’ve had through most of my college time, is this menial service industry job that I dislike so I am anxious to start something substantial. I’m very worried that I’ll be stuck in this job forever (which would absolutely shatter me). All I see is doom and gloom about the job market right now and it really sucks the excitement out of graduating.

Currently, I’ve applied to 45 jobs with 1 interview and 10 rejections. I started March 1st and I am keeping track in a spreadsheet. The rest I have yet to hear back from. I’m not applying to anything out of the scope of my experience and degree.

Any words of advice, encouragement, or suggestions would be appreciated. I am all ears here.

Also, I’ll answer any clarifying questions.

Signed, An anxious soon to be graduated college student
