Action Reply PowerSaves 3DS

Hi, so I’m looking at buying the Action Replay Powersaves device so I can clone Pokémon without the risk of the more glitchy methods. I looked on Amazon and I have 2 questions:

1. Are the any material differences between the basic PowerSaves (yellow box) and the 2020 Pro Box edition (darker box)? The latter lists more compatible consoles, but its the cartridges that directly interact with it isn’t it?
2. I know you have to edit on a computer - are they compatible with Mac? YES 10.6 (Snow Leopard) to 10.15 (Catalina)
