My aunt passed away a year and a half ago and she left her pension to be divided between all her nieces and nephews but we are being told “the state is still months behind” and that’s why we haven’t received anything?
Location NJ
Very long story short my aunt passed away a year and a half ago (in 2021) and left all her nieces and nephews her pension. One person was deemed the beneficiary on paper and my aunt had in a written will that it was to be divided between us evenly
I understand things take time but we cannot get any straight answers From the beneficiary as to when/how much we will be getting.
Everytime we inquire we get told “they’re waiting for waivers” but no explanation as to what kind of waivers and then they say “the state is still a few months behind” I don’t even know what that’s suppose to mean?
Just looking for some clarification
