First time Mommy with Kaiser

I'm a first time mother and everything was so unexpected so I wasn't prepared. I was wondering if you do the genetic prenatal testing before your first prenatal appointment or do you do it the day of the appointment? I have Kaiser and I've already done the phone appointment where they ask you about your last period, medical history, book your first appointment with the OB doctor. It says on the notes of the phone appointment that the patient(me) was encouraged to do the prenatal labs the day of the phone appointment but the nurse didn't tell me anything during the phone call. So i was just wondering if i do it the day of the first doctors appointment or before my appointment, and do i have to set up an appointment to do the labs? My appointment is going to be 2 weeks from now.
