Leopard Gecko Health Issues

Hi all, it's been a rough past 2 weeks. My leo, Ziggy, has been in such good health for the last 5 years.

2 weeks ago I noticed swelling near his vent/pores, so I took him to the vet the next day. He got antibiotics and for 3 days it looked okay, but then one night I noticed a red spot forming. I called the vet Monday morning and they got me in Tuesday. By Tuesday the red spot had become a sore, I got an earlier appointment, and we rushed to the vet. He got surgery Wednesday morning.

Surgery went well, stitches were healing well. He had to get antibiotic shots every 3 days since. Wednesday morning one of the bulges of his hemipenes started swelling, the vet looked at it and said to keep an eye on it. His eyes have also been dry since surgery, so I have to give him drops daily. I have been soaking him for 20-30 minutes a night for the last 15 days as the vet recommended.

Tonight the second swelling spot isn't getting better, so I'm going to try to get into the vet tomorrow.

I'm distraught. I have a sinking feeling in my gut. I feel so bad for Ziggy, I feel like he is going to associate me with bad things like vet visits and antibiotics (which he hates). I am so scared this other swelling is going to need surgery and it is so risky for one, let alone two surgeries. I feel like I'm failing as an owner, but I'm doing all I can.
