Struggling with relationship of 3 years. Me (28M) with 33F
Been together for 3 years, also engaged for one of those years. Still engaged. Living together, but there’s always constant fights and arguments, she’s always nagging me about little mistakes I make here and there, like forgetting to take out the trash, putting empty bottles away etc. Things can be going great and when one thing sets her off it’s like the end of the world. We’re both not at our happiest, and I’m always afraid to stand up to her when she gets really mean with me.
I haven’t been the perfect partner but I always right my wrongs but it’s like goddamn give me some slack
Another thing too is I rarely don’t get any free time with myself or with my friends. I work 50hrs a week, off on the weekend. But when the weekend comes if I wanna hang with a friend for a little she say something like “yeah but I kinda wanted to do this with you today, or we have this errand to run.” But it’s like if I try any harder to see my friends it becomes this big fight and ordeal. I do very much love her, but most days it just feels empty.
I don’t know if I’m just rambling at this point so I apologize. I struggle with depression, and any day I’m having a bad day where I’m in my feelings and express them, she just expects me to suck it up and be a man because she’s always in need of help whether it’s emotional or she needs help around the house. “And one person has to be the stronger one.” I want things to work, I don’t want to feel this way but I’m drained.
Any advice will help, thank you.
