What situation would I switch out my middle fin for a larger one?

I bought an 8’ Greco foamboard off of someone and it came with a spare middle fin that is much larger than the current middle fin. What situation would I want to use the larger middle fin? Is it just for bigger riders? I’m 185lbs if that helps.
