Convertible fluid

I am in the process of fixing a 2001 9-3 SE Convertible and I was having trouble getting the recommended hydraulic fluid. I told my friend as much and he suggested I just use ATF. I was highly skeptical about that and figured I’d ask the professionals ;) Wondering if this would actually work and if not any recommendations on what else to use or where to find proper fluid?
