Am I crazy or my boss is trying to put me down?

My boss is Canadian. I’m an immigrant, I moved here 5 years ago from the Middle East.

I work with him for two years now but they still don’t know me much because I’m an introvert and I don’t talk much about me.

Today we were talking with our colleague she said a word in her language and he wanted to tell me that that word sounds similar to the word “cheatsheet” (the one in exams)

So he started it by explaining to me what a cheat sheet is by saying “so there’s a paper they give you in college in an exam, kinda cheating but not really, u can put formulas there and info” I was kinda confused I said “what paper?” He continued explaining as if my “what” is asking for more info … he said “not just accounting even psychology and other majors, it’s called cheat sheet, that word sounds like the word cheat sheet”

I was kinda surprised he started right away explaining what a cheat sheet is while he knows I studied in university as well back home and I have a bachelor in finance so all numbers like I’d 100% know what a cheat sheet is, he could’ve easily started it by telling me “you know back in uni, when they give you cheat sheet” or “you probably know” cuz hello? He’s not explaining to a 5 years old

Am I crazy or he tries to put me down? I don’t think it’s normal to assume like that that me having a uni from back home means uni there is like elementary school or something?

I’m sure he’s not dumb , he’s smart and very self aware
