Ground flax seed when pregnant....
Hi ladies- did you eat ground flaxseed meal during pregnancy? I'm talking straight out of the bag- putting it in smoothies, in cereal, yogurt etc? For like the entire second trimester I have put some ground flax into my yogurt or cereal and I just realized today it's not advised to consume flax seeds when pregnant. Especially "raw". Apparently you have to cook them, to remove cyanide and other toxins. But the bag of ground flax said you can put them right onto salads etc. Anyway, apparently bc flax seeds contain lignins and are phytoestrogens, they can harm the long term health of your baby, increasing potential for mammory cancer and infertility. I'm extremely nervous that I just fucked up my entire pregnancy. Did anyone eat them consistently (uncooked) and had a healthy baby/child? I need reassurance so I don't become completely doom and gloom. Also- I don't need any more articles stating not to eat them so please refrain from commenting that.
