Why am i being placed against 15+ crown wins when i just started?

Why are there no placement matches? No lobbies of my actual skill level? I got killed by some guy and he does the victory emote with 15 crown wins. The season literally just started. Why am I going against mega sweats?! I can’t get anywhere near placing top 10 let alone 25.
