Completely confused with what vet has done to my cats teeth

Advice

So just wanted some friendly support with this situation.

Took my 6 year old cat to the vet as I noticed her upper canine has swelling around the gum all the way up the top of the root, red and recession.

When the vet saw this he said it needs to be pulled out, gave us some anti inflammatory and told us to let him know how it goes. The tooth never improved. So we went back for another dental check this time with another vet who said oh it’s just gingivitis nothing major, it doesn’t have to be removed.

So we emailed the vet clinic asking them what’s best as we’ve had 2 separate opinions. They advised since her gums not improved with plaque off then to bring her in for her dental and remove it.

Yesterday she had her dental. We checked her tooth and saw that the canine is still there! We called the vet practice and found out they removed 2 premolars instead! So we asked them to explain why the canine wasn’t removed when that was the issue all along since it’s a Saturday we have to wait till Monday for a response.

I am absolutely gutted and don’t understand, did another vet check the canine during the dental and think it doesn’t need to be pulled? But it doesn’t explain the inflammation all over the tooth up to the root at the top of the mouth.

I am so beyond confused and upset I don’t want her in pain!
