Surgical Decisions
My wife and I are trying to decide whether to consent for surgery for a 20-month-old son who has bilateral knee dislocation. He already gets around well in his own way. And we imagine will continue to adapt as he grows. That said, if he ever wants to walk, the surgery is necessary. I would love to hear from people who have had surgeries when they were very young and either are very pleased with the outcome or wish that they had been able to embrace their uniqueness without family making surgical decisions for them.
