Can someone explain how I'm supposed to play my Paladin?

I like it a lot and I want to play well because there's a lot of potential there, but either it's buggy or tech blasts are bugged.

From what I understand...

Frozen = use Incinerate Chilled = incinerate (or ED if draining shield) Burnt = snap freeze (or ED)

Yet it seems like whenever I use snapfreeze, my target's frozen solid so I can't use any tech combos. And sometimes using Incinerate first doesn't work, I need the chilled debuff.

So what can I do?
