Anyone have any idea how to get this timer working? “May 1946 York Clock company no 191c.” Electric makes sense, my only issue is I can’t get the clock to turn, I think it has to do with the spring under “May” but if anyone has an idea please let me know! Appreciate any info anyone has!

Do you mean to turn under power or to turn to set the time?

My guess is the dial should free wheel in the direction of the arrow. If not, you may have to hold the screw on the shaft with a flat head driver and loosen the hex nut with a wrench to turn the dial and than tighten it back down. Align the current time with the time mark the arrow points to.

For it to turn under power you have to look at it and figure out which terminals go into the timer motor and which ones go into the switches. It looks like the motor wired are the two coming out from the middle, the black and the tan, and the two terminals are the switch.

The TORK (not York) clock company - headquartered in Sweden - is still making electrical timers since 1922. Since your motor is 75+ years old, I doubt there’s much hope of it still working, or there being a modern replacement, but you could contact the company for more information. The spring under “May” is for tension on the switch lever, has nothing to do with the motor running. The motor is Self-Starting; when power is supplied, it should start on its own - if it was functional.
