Need Guidance.
Hi everyone,
I need some changes in my mindset regarding my remaining 3 or so years in the National Guard. For context, I’ve been in for about 3 years now and have done a couple of stateside missions (COVID & Border). Honestly speaking, I can’t help but feel dread and anxiety when drill or AT approaches, mainly due to not feeling productive or progressing myself in any manner. When I enlisted, I was optimistic of all the opportunities I would get with being in the military and it’s something I have wanted to do for awhile. My contract ends in 2025 and at this point I’m so eager to get out after seeing all the toxic leaders in power and all the nonsensical policies & politics. I’m trying my best to stay positive and motivated knowing that this is temporary and I also get education & health benefits while being in but some days it’s just difficult to see the light at the end. Feel free to provide some insight on how I can approach my remaining years.
Thank you.
