Rainbow shiner tank after fresh water change and botanicals. On r/loaches it's the Sewellia tank.

Is there anything underneath the tank to support the tank flow or it’s just a regular long tank with a power head? Saw a similar stream tank and it was complex
Yes, there is. The first version of this setup used a modified river manifold design, which might be similar to what you saw. This version uses a false bottom: frag rack/eggcrate resting on a series of 3D printed legs that lift the rocks about 3" off the true tank bottom. Water and waste can drain through the floor when it loses energy, and the flow returns along the bare tank bottom which pushes that waste at the canister filter intake. So far it's worked really well.
One caveat is that the frag legs "point load" the weight onto the bottom glass. This is a rimless tank, so the entire glass bottom is supported. I showed this to the tank manufacturer and they gave me a green light, but said that for mass production they would increase the thickness or temper the bottom glass.
There's a build thread way back in my post history that shows the different stages of the build.
It’s a beautiful tank! How do you feed your shiners without the food getting sucked up in the filtration. Right away?
Thank you! One of the big staples I feed are live flightless fruit flies, and they stay on the surface until they are (quickly) consumed. I also feed Repashy Soilent Green, usually slathered on a stone. If that doesn’t adhere well enough it can sometimes slide off, get chopped up and distributed through the system 😅
Love it! The shiners look like they’re in heaven. Is this in a 22 gallon long?
Thank you! Yes, this is a 22 long. Great size!!
Okay I went back and found your build album and am now pretty obsessed with your amazing set up! Can I ask how thick the bottom glass pane of your build is?
I've got an AquaMaxx 12 gal long I'd like to try this in 😄
This is a custom tank, 6mm Starphire. TBH I am not 100% sure about the bottom, probably the same. It’s on 1/4” neoprene.
