Paying as a foreigner in China
Hi! I will be travelling around China this summer for about a month. I have a few questions about payment. I keep hearing China is pretty much a cashless society these days, so from what I gather I will need to rely on WeChat and AliPay for my payment needs. Last time I was in China (2015/2016) cash was still the most used payment method, so I don't have much familiarity with either of the two.
I currently have a foreign credit card attached to my WeChat account. It won't let me verify my ID, top-up my balance or request payments (no Chinese bank account). However, I seem to be able to use the 'money' function. It shows a payment code and a QR-code attached to my credit card.
I also managed to add a foreign credit card to my AliPay. Again, I can't use any of the other functions (no Chinese bank account to verify), but here I find a payment code and QR-code attached to my credit card as well.

Will the above be enough to be able to get around China and pay street vendors and restaurants and whatnot?

I've also been reading about the Tour Pass function on AliPay. However, that seems to be discontinued and replaced with Tour Card in April (which isn't working yet). I guess that's also something I should check out?

Any other payment options?

Or any other stuff I need to know?
Thanks in advance!
