One of my favorite throw away lines from all of ITYSL…

It creates a sense of unexpected realism.

Same and I can never really get it right. It's a complex line to remember

Oh the line costs more because its complicated???

1
kmg1500CORN KICKER•

They value the lines by how complicated they are! They have a line that costs $1,000! I want that one SOOOOOOO BAD.

So many throwaway pointless lines that I now use all the time. "You sure about that that's why?" Makes the people that haven't seen it a bunch of times so FUCKIN confused.

dankgarebear•

They don’t know what ANY of this shit is and they’re fucking SCARED

7
chris52490•

Ha that is a good one too. I don’t think anyone I see on the day-to-day has watched ITYSL, so the throwaway lines just echo in my head all day.

Ain’t that the saddest fuckin thing you ever heard?

you sure about that

The way he says it almost makes me feel like he hasn’t changed

I say this line all the time.

We have a rule here that one person can’t say all the good lines and then leave nothing left, like just words

Like just words, no good lines or anything

I love these bits in which the crazy character is really into some specific group of people, it’s hard to explain, but it feels so real. It’s like on Calico Pants when he’s talking about the guys from the website, how they both lost their virginity at the same party

Not trying to be funny. Not trying to make anyone have their worst day at their job, but the man’s name is Rob Rovani.

Are you Meredith's mum?

7

This is so funny. I love this interaction because he seems almost to blame Meredith in his tone.

That and when he tries to take the gift as he’s starting to leave.

1
FN9_•

That’s one of the best little parts of the skit is that he’s going to leave and take his gift with him because he’s still being a piece of shit.

5

Exactly. He's a piece of shit until the old man publicly allows him to hold the baby. In this sketch Tim is reborn in a way! The whole dream sequence at the end is his "rebirth" in a way which ends with the baby on the beach smiling at him.

This may be just unprofessional bullshit but Tim's character does sort of piece of shit stuff throughout the sketch as evidenced by the baby crying at the outset (they only cry when pieces of shit hold them), still keeping "pushed back hair" and justifying it, going to Meredith's mom and trying to talk himself out of being a piece of shit as if he needs to justify it by projecting on her, obsessiveness with sloppy steaks and the obvious joy in his voice remembering those times (as delicious as we all know they are when you just slop em up and the water splashes all over and I'm talk ALL OVER the plate and your trying to eat soooooo fast and cut it up with a knife and the owner is yelling at you "hey guys, no sloppy steaks please"...)... anyway, calling out the old man for his history as a piece of shit publicly is sort of a POS move too, and then almost leaving WITH the gift he brought. Come on! This is all sort of piece of shit stuff.

It isn't until a reformed piece of shit publicly acknowledges that people can change that Tim holds the baby, the baby doesn't cry and then Tim's character relives his POS days one last time only to see the baby at the end on the beach.

3
BBDAngelo•

I love it also. To go to the woman’s mother to tell he’s worried about her daughter! Seems so serious!

And the reason he is worried is because she thinks he gives a rat’s ass about the baby thinking he used to be a piece of shit 😂

My wife has an uncle in law, John, with a very similar sounding last name and every time I think Tim is talking about him. That guy is a real piece of shit too.

Not that guy though. You can tell because babies still hate him.
