I think we've already established that the federation is absolutely dumped on by almost everyone. But now let's ask ourselves who would win again the federation the fastest or most devastating? Free for all. Everything is a go.

Any of the major Star Wars factions would wipe the floor with them. Even if stormtroopers don't have the best aim, they shoot to kill and fight with discipline and without fear, more than can be said for either Arxur or feds. Clones would find it an absolute cakewalk. And the Separatists, Republic, and Empire are each capable of matching or even exceeding the federation's insane numbers. Combined with minimal competence, and it's no contest.
Nah stormtroopers have great aim, as long as there is no plot armour involved. For example, all of ANH, like when they board the Tantive IV, they only take like 2 casualties, while literally entering 1 by 1 and still kill all the rebels defending. Or when they were under orders to allow Luke and the gang to escape to the rebel base

But I would like to say that their is some foreshadowing that the Kolshians and the Farsul aren’t like the rest of the federation and can in fact actually fight and pose a serious threat but have chosen not to. Maybe they lose to most outside NoP factions cause they are OP bullshit but, I think we might be underestimating the two core species capabilities.

The contingency would be gg on the spot. They out tech the federation by a ton. If they show up like they do in Stellaris, then the four biggest fed systems are lost in an instant, then everything else falls.

The Klingons would be the feds greatest nightmare
Symbiotes would be a massive threat to the Federation, because their only weakness is psykers/theurgy, neither of which the Federation has. A sentient assimilationist hivemind that consists of individuals who are reborn fully loyal to the hive with all their pre-existing knowledge would be a horrific threat to any faction, especially given their tech level, with organic FTL travel and weaponry, not to mention the fact that despite it being a connected consciousness, it’s a bunch of individuals put together, which means that there’s not the vulnerability of the hive mind needing to pay attention to a million things at once.
On a similar note, the Vau would absolutely ruin the Federation. They’re like the Zeyzell but they literally carry around miniature suns for their ship’s power sources, even the small ones. That’s not a statement on their use of fusion reactors, they literally carry around miniature stars on their ships. They’re also militantly isolationist, and possess forward facing eyes. They most likely wouldn’t pick any fights, but if the feds started shit, they wouldn’t be the ones ending it.
