League of legends Freeze/Alt tab issues

When alt tabbing in and out of league, league's screen freezes but i can still hear the game run properly. For whatever reason deleting the config and log folder after every game resolves this but im required to restart the pc as the folder indicates league is open though league nor riot programs dont appear in the task manager. Any one have any clue on what this could be? drivers are all updated and league running as admin.
