hogwarts legacy lag and no quest progression?

hey guys so every time i try playing (xbox series s) i get lag spikes like super frequently and i dont know how to fix it, like every time im running around or save or open a chest or anything it just freezes and also i cant complete quests because it wont let me talk to any npc or character i need to talk to to progress in a quest. im at professor weaselys quest and poppy's also a couple of the ones in the three broomsticks with serona but it wont let me talk to anyone except merchants, can anyone please help me?
