Cost of living

Money is tight just now. We all know it.

Anyway I wanted to let you know that I saved a bit a money over the last month. I got a chap at the door from a lassie in her 20s, she was selling talk talk fibre internet. She asked the usual questions like who is your supplier, how much do you pay etc etc

In general I usually fuck off these cold callers off but she said something to me that I felt was really important. I didn't know this, but she said you will have most likely heard from your current supplier about a price increase. If the increase is above a certain threshold they need to let you know. In the contract they call this a significant change. (They don't actually say that but that is what that email means)

Did you know that if there is a significant change you can cancel the contract? Then change to go elsewhere?

My monthly bill is £30 and they are looking to increase it to £35. which is 16.8% roughly. I can only imagine that the threshold must be above 10% or the rate of inflation.

When I left my last job, I had to hand back my phone. So I was without one. I have been out of the contract phone game for a few years and whe I saw the price of phones I couldn't believe it. I read some reviews and bit the bullet and bought myself a cheapo Chinese phone from Amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B093QJXWTS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also signed up to Smarty which is on the 3 network. https://smarty.co.uk/sim-only?gclsrc=aw.ds&gclid=CjwKCAjw_YShBhAiEiwAMomsEJ6oApfF6LNYKXono34aMn3wBqArydj0Agp6zNaAXH2oOb3OPJc46xoCWh0QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#plans

This savings wont change the world but it will help.
