Maybe I'm missing something. I cleared the elite Chapter, but I still have 44 hours left and all the entries for today and that time. I was able to buy 1 copy of Emma, but I'm short on currency to buy another. Is that normal? That I have no way to get enough currency to buy the two copies that are in the shop? I try to run a chapter and it just says I've completed it.

For me this event just started 2 days ago. Does it vary based on when I started to play?
For the first 6 weeks I think the events all stay the same, then you join the worldwide live events
Extra copies are in there for folks to buy them up when they purchase the packs to go along with the event. And the extra two days are for you to be tempted to buy one of those packs, or for folks who missed a day to still be able to complete it.
Like Fluffy said, hold on to the rewards and save em up for the next round. Usually the elite chapter heroes are ones you’re going to want to snag up while you can
Doh! Wish I knew the currencies carry across to the next event. I used all mine up.
That's normal. You can save the currency for next time. It won't be Emma as the hero in the shop changes, but you'll be able to buy two copies of whoever it is if you have enough currency.
