Kraut vs kimchi poster here, next hot take is spam musbi new popularity.
Grew up with poorish grandparents that sent me to school with fried spam as my lunch and getting made fun of by grade school kids in middle America for eating dog food. Now that East Asian food is in vogue everyone is fucking with spam musbi. It's just bizarre to me how often people hate on something and as soon as it becomes trendy everyone fucks with it.

I have an interesting take. I had some grandparents interned during WW2 and they ate spam as that is what the military provided for them. Some “poor” foods have stood the test of time (Kraft and Ramen), however, this one hits a little different as it is something I grew up on as well. It’s nice to know others are indulging in such, but I want everyone to know how these foods got popularized in America first.
