Cosmic Ignition

Every time my phone buzzes with a notification,

My heart shatters into a thousand burning shreds of flame, a force I can't ignore,

A starry light within me roars,

To express myself, to fulfill my purpose,

A need that cuts like a comet's streak.

The thought of not pursuing this desire,

Leaves me with an emptiness that won't expire,

Since the day I first laid eyes on you,

My heart has been a galaxy, full of feeling so new,

I cannot wait forever, for time is fleeting,

And my impulse is heating.

When God made Eve, he crafted a masterpiece divine,

But when he made you, he took his time to shine.

You're a one-of-a-kind beauty, beyond compare,

Crafted from stardust, a celestial affair.

Like a star, you pull me in,

Your beauty, intelligence, and kindness make me ache for a chance to begin,

Like a gravitational pull, impossible to win,

It's a feeling that I cannot shake nor ignore,

A starburst that burns within me to the core.

I'm like a planet, stuck in an orbit so wide,

Trying to break free, to soar by your side,

But no matter how hard I try to soar,

I remain distant, waiting forever nevermore.

I must confess, since the first day,

It has been you, initiating my constellation sway,

I cannot wait forever, for time is short,

I seek to look to you like the stars above for support.

My emotions flood in waves, as if you’re the moon’s gravity that guides the tides,

A force that moves me in unpredictable strides,

And though this fight is like a dream on Neptune's shores,

I know there is no chance for it to be simply weather, as if the planets change course in their cosmic wars.

With each passing moment, the feeling of dread, knowing it inevitably will be like without you grows,

Like a wildfire that rages and fiercely glows,

I know of no chance to hold you in my arms,

The closest I can get is a friend, one who understands.

You're the light, the spark in my heart,

The eternal missing puzzle piece that's been there from the start,

And though the road ahead may be unknown,

With you by my side, I know we'll find a way to make it easily flown. For reasons unknown, I know God won’t make it so.

My puzzle would be complete,

But fullness is not always sweet,

For light and dark in balance meet,

And on the same path, both compete.

Your laugh, an intoxicating symphony,

Your smile, so bright, like a diamond in the strongest sunlight,

A personality so divine it must have been sculpted by God's own mind.

Your beauty beyond measure, your perfection an impossible work of love's insanity,

A star from above, shining with divine clarity.

Your mind, a labyrinth of mystery,

A fortress of thoughts and history.

I don’t deserve the opportunity to navigate the twists and turns with care,

To understand the depths of what you bear,

For your beauty and mine would never compare.

Together, two could reorganize the sky,

Make memories to reminisce, moments that will last. I know that you will not see what you meant to me.

Time slips away like sand through my fingers,

Just six short weeks left before it lingers,

Destined to become a distant memory,

An uncertain future that's a little scary.

As we journey through life's twists and turns,

Together we might flicker, light and burn,

Brighter than any nebula,

Guiding us through each trial and purpose.

But in the end, I know that you will burn brighter and I will fall away like an empty lighter.
