15 to 9 handicap in 12 months
A year ago, I could barely break 90. I just broke 80 for the first time last weekend.
In that time I’ve;
-
Lost 30 lbs. thru intermittent fasting, working out and not drinking a whole lot anymore.
-
Taken a few lessons. The big breakthrough was changing my backswing to less upright and more flat. The other big one was a chipping lesson that got me dialed in.
-
Practice, practice, practice. I chip/putt at least one day a week after work.
-
Golf specific workouts. There are some great trainers on Twitter I follow.
-
Playing against people better than me. This helps big time. I love being back of the pack and now I’m starting to beat them.
-
I used to lose focus a lot after 9 holes. I’ve up my nutrition and hydration before and during my rounds. I’ve noticed a big difference here.
I committed to overall just putting more time in to practice and playing and my health in general and it’s paying off.
Now I’m on the path to hopefully consistently breaking 80 and hopefully 75 next.
