[WTT] Triiaxis Midnight Magnacut
Up for trade today is a Triiaxis Midnight in Magnacut with a V2 blade.
First owner, got a bookspot last August. I believe this was the first with the new blade toolpath which makes them even thinner. It originally had some detent lash, so I sent it back and held out for one of the new versions. There is no detent lash now and everything functions perfectly. I carried it for two days and put it back in it’s box since it just doesn’t click for me. No signs of use or wear, looks just like it did when it arrived. Lockup is about 50%, blade is perfectly centered as you would expect and runs extremely smoothly on delrin-caged ceramic bearings.
If there’s a thinner blade out there I’d love to see it. He said these are ~0.010” even 1/4” away from the cutting edge and I believe it. It’s only possible to get a grind like this from a CNC machine and he hardmills them to avoid any warping in HT. It has all the bells and whistles including two detent balls on the lockbar insert, a crazy hidden hardware deep-carry clip, some insane internal milling, and Magnacut heat treated to 63-64 HRC. I could keep going but Knife Nerdery did a phenomenal review here.
TV = $800
Looking for a Craig Brown Exponent or Cortex but if you have other cool customs, HMU!
