Blanket stitch or overcast stitch?

I’m making my first fursuit and I don’t have access to a sewing machine, so I’m hand sewing it. Should I use an overcast stitch or a blanket stitch? What is the functional difference between the two? Is the blanket stitch stronger or more flexible or something?
