The morning wizard say it’s #7 Hopper vs #1 Smile Happy both at small-change odds. How about #3 Hero Status? He got a bad ride in the Rebel and finished somewhere in Tennessee. Might be a play at 12/1 but doubt those odds will hold because of (1) Diodoro and (2) Myracehorse and (3) Cristian Torres.

#2 Sassy Lass is ridden by a sassy lass named Chel-C Bailey, who is an MMA fighter in her other life. The last time this pair ran was an sloppy affair, but go two races back and you’ll see the potential.

#6 Straight No Chaser is quoted at miserable odds and the Myracehorse crowd may make it worse. There are three good challengers in the gate.

RACE EIGHT (67/2) The Hot Springs

Out of the New York mud and onto the (hopefully) fast Arkansas dirt is #2 Eyeing Clover, the morning choice. Won his debut sprint here and another in New Orleans but has yet to face a fair test at the distance. His pappy Lookin At Lucky could run an okay mile.

#8 Route Runner has potential but hasn’t been able to get position going into the turn. Three different jockeys have tried and maybe Gaffalione can make the difference.
