Recent Experience Flying Delta with a Bike?

Hey folks,

Does anyone have any recent experience with checking your bike on Delta flights? I know they changed their rules to allow bikes packaged in under 115 linear inches (total LxWxD dimensions) and under 50lbs to be checked as a regular bag.

I'm flying for a tour and will be checking 1 bag already, so checking a second isn't that much of a concern. I already have a hard-sided case, and it should match their dimensional requirements.

Bikeflights quoted me $450, shipbikes is no longer providing shipping services.
