Unemployment depleted
I recently ran out of unemployment benefits.
I figure I need to make about $15-$18/hr at minimum. Prefer W2 but open to contract or other.
Location: Wisconsin, Remote
Social anxiety
- Need to find a work from home job
- Uncomfortable with phone calls. If necessary, something internal or non-customer/general public facing, or very minimal at most
- In process of finding a therapist
Current Qualifications
- Worked previously captioning phone calls/using voice to text software, enjoyed the kind of work but cannot find anything similar that pays enough
- Degree and experience in graphic design
- Have been applying to remote jobs for 6mo but unsuccessful
- Enjoy using computers, working with data, designing, don't mind text based chatting or emailing. Enjoy administrative type work except for the social parts. Enjoy having projects to do independently or with little supervision.
- Dislike phone calls, complex math, and working with customers.
Certifications/courses
- Probably a long shot, but anything worth spending a few weeks learning that could help me in finding more opportunities?
Other financial assistance
- Are food stamps out of the question if I live with a partner who makes too much to qualify for it themselves?
- Other programs I could sign up for that may not be well-known?
Job leads, other ideas
- Anyone have personal leads they could share?
- Is freelance worth it with the hassle of taxes/keeping track of everything myself?
- Advice on working as customer service phone rep if need be?
- Anything that is close to what I’m looking for (Ex: remote job that makes a couple phone calls but isn’t the primary role of the job)
Thank you for reading and for any helpful info!
