Romanian Passport

After my father died I found out my grandfather's heritage was Romanian (not German), and I qualify for an EU / Romanian passport (I'm American and have lived about 10 years outside the US). I've been working on this for a couple of years with a Bucharest law firm - the process has been slow and expensive. Wondering if I'm in a long con. Any advice / suggestions for a reputable law firm that handles this service?
