Tire size question

My truck currently has 255/85/16 and I've never noticed any rubbing. 285/75/16 has a lot more options and are generally cheaper, would the extra inch in width cause problems do you think? It was lifted with these tires when I bought it, don't want to get cheaper tires and then end up having to do a bunch of work to make them fit.
