Set up YouTube for your kids - approved content only
Hey Parents, I realized after reading another thread a lot of parents are not aware of this. You can create a YouTube Kids account for your kids where you can make it so they can only watch content that YOU have approved. No more Algorithm Roulette!
When you add a kid in YouTube Kids, it asks you for age range content. Select “Approve Content Yourself” and turn off “Allow Searching” and turn off Watch History and Search History.
It will make it so all they can watch are the channels and videos you have approved without suggesting additional similar videos and going down a rabbit hole.
** If you approve a channel, just know it will give them access to all the new content that channel posts so make sure you’re approving original content and things you trust - example: official cocomelon channel and not the random channels that post cocomelon snippets.
Let me know if you need more help! Sending peace of mind to my fellow parents.
