getting a loan

I'm currently in my second year, and I've never gotten a loan before. Is it possible to get one for the last month of school to help with groceries/rent? How do I go about it? Do I call the office and ask? The information I looked up just tells me about entering the year with aid/gives me scholarship options/etc. I was also given random options from websites about their loan offers, is it trustworthy and if you have one from somewhere that's not the school, how is it/how'd you go about it?
