Gender Wage Gap

I'm sure this has been asked before, but hey, no stupid questions, right? I've seen a ton of stuff about the gender wage gap. I've seen it said that women are paid less for doing the "same job" as a man, but I've also seen it said that women often work jobs that pay less than men, and that is why they make less on average. I've seen convincing arguments and data for both sides. Can someone smarter than me help me out here? If a man and a woman are working literally the same job at the same company, putting in the same hours, will the woman be paid less?
