A modest and deferential invitation to visit the alt-historical Bassanda multiverse
Hey friends: I hope this is an acceptable posting for this forum; based upon some others I've seen recently, I believe it is--but mods feel free to remove, if it is not.
Please consider this a modest and deferential invitation to visit the alt-historical multiverse of the "mysterious nation of Bassanda," a (Central Asian? Eastern European?) satellite and republic, the home of the Elegant Savages Orchestra, formerly the Bassanda National Radio Orchestra (current iteration "The 1942 CASABLANCA Band"), and the setting for three SFF novels, serialized at www.smithscribe.substack.com:
THE GREAT TRAIN RIDE FOR BASSANDA (c1904-06): an epic cross-European journey to bring ancient Documents of anti-war technology to Bassanda, in order to counter a Tsarist invasion;
BASSANDA AND THE BOLSHEVIK REVOLUTION (c1916-19): a wartime tale of loss, madness, resistance, and redemption on the Eastern front of the Great War; and (currently serializing)
NEW WORLD A-COMING (c1930s & 1960s): a tale of cultural and spiritual revolution in California in the 1930s and Bassanda and the West Coast in the 1960s.
