Cause for immediate concern?

Physician Responded

Hello, I’m 23, female.

My ABSOLUTE eosinophil count has been ranging between 1.9-2.2 x E9/L since June 2022, however in a recent blood test a week ago it has jumped to 5.8, 44% of my WBC. my WBC are at 13.4 x E9/L.

A pathologist examined my blood smear and left these comments:

Eosinophilia, Slight Microcytosis Consider iron deficiency or thalassemia. Recommend serum ferritin and hemoglobin fractionation if status unknown. Eosinophilia - common causes include allergy, drug reaction, atopic dermatitis, or parasitic infection.

Other labs include positive rheumatoid factor, fine speckled ANA titer of 1:640, anti dsdna at 5 (indeterminate) and SSA ro antibody >8.0 (positive).

I’m just wondering if I should just go to the ER. I’m seeing a hematologist, lung doctor, a rheumatologist and ENT in the coming weeks but nothing has been finalized so far and i’m in SO MUCH body pain.

thanks in advance(:

edit; lung and ct scan were ordered due to terrible cough and swollen lymph nodes, both clear

edit: i’m in canada, my eosinophil in 2021 was normal. i was tested for toxoplasmosis like my blood smear, was negative

edit: wbc last month was normal. but eosinophil were still high
