Tips for fiction with fascinating worldbuilding?

Question

Hi there! I hope this still belongs here. I am currently trying to shape a world for a fantasy medieval DnD campaign I'd like to DM. But, I've always struggled with worldbuilding of such stuff. I love the vibes of it, e.g. Ranger's Apprentice is absolutely fabulous, but cannot for the love of god actually come up with something myself.

For a while, I thought it's just overwhelming for me. However, I just recently realized that I never really built good sort of visual library - meaning I never really consumed fantasy like LoTR, Hobbit, Eragon, Witcher... (Please stray away of saying that it's a shame I never read/watched it, such a comments are reason why I never got to it, thanks 🙏✨)

So I'd like to catch up on that. What fantasy (doesn't have to be, any dystopian work would be also appreciated) would you recommend if someone asked you "yo, what's one of the best worldbuilding you ever encountered in a fiction?".

I especially struggle with incorporating magic and different races to my world such as elves, dwarves etc. I want it there, but when I try to think about it, my mind goes blank.

tldr; please give me a recommendations on pieces of fiction with outstanding worldbuilding, thank you!
