Nexplonon side affects and concerns

I have been having a weird vaginal irritation since I got my Nexplonon in 1 month ago. I noticed it has gradually increased and will come in waves throughout the days. Its also supposed to be my period week which I haven’t gotten it but the pain and weird sensation has kicked up. It kinda feels like UTI but I don’t think it is. Why is that?
