Limited map customization

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but is anyone else pissed with how little flexibility we have with the lots in the world? I personally prefer having a few worlds with 10-20 lots (like in older sim games) instead, rather than like 20+ maps with 3-4 lots on them to work with. I really like being able to walk to other buildings without having to load in/out of the property every time I travelled.
