/title times isn't working, any ideas?

So, I've been using the /title command for some title in my world's battle royale and I have the titles set to 30 60 20 ticks. Sometimes, this works flawlessly, however, other times it just doesn't work. It just flashes up and vanishes after about a second.

Is this a known problem or is there anything specific I could be doing that's causing it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
