How to ask for tips instead of drinks in a polite or funny way?

Whenever I’m playing a show people always come up and ask “what are you drinking?!” Or offer to buy me shots/beer/etc.

How can I reply “I’d rather you just tip me $8 than buy me an overpriced drink” in a way that shows I’m still appreciative of them being nice? Or in a funny way?
