Selection first, then action. Possible in nvim?

First of all, I'm a modal editing noob. I'm considering picking either neovim or helix. I love everything about helix, but I just find it unlikely that I'll be able to survive long without support for plugins.

So I'm trying to replicate as much of helix in nvim as I can.

Is there a plugin that allows for the `Selection -> Action` model helix has as opposed to the `Action -> Selection` model vim has? A plugin or something I can do with config?
