Advice/tips from rodent owners
I’ve had mice before when I was younger, and would like them again now that I’m an adult. However, I’ve since learned that most of what is typically associated with them (those cheap plastic, colorful cages in most pet-cos, hamster balls, etc) is not what should be.
What advice/tips can y’all give me?
- enclosure recommendations
- activity recommendations
- mental stimulation recommendations
- food recommendations
- companion recommendations
- handling recommendations
- vet recommendations
- breeder recommendations (fancy mice is what I’ve commonly seen)
- products to avoid
- anything else
I’ve had a myriad of pets, from snakes to spiders; birds to farm animals- so I wouldn’t say I’m inexperienced, but there is definitely more I could learn about keeping thriving rodents
