The Future of Albert Wesker

I replayed the remake and spent the time paying attention to certain things and I noticed that Wesker isn't wearing gloves. This makes me think that his capacity in the game is going to be very different than previously. Are they ditching his story from before? He isn't mentioned in RE2R because there really isn't proof he was Captain of STARZ even in what was supposed to be his office. Nor is there any mention of the mansion incident in RE3R. So how are they going to explain him? Backtracking his story and history in all this would mean remaking Umbrella and Darkside Chronicles.
