DENVER COUNTY VOTERS—here is how your city council members voted regarding the pit bull ban repeal
In 2020, city council members voted to repeal the city’s 30 year ban, 7 in favor and 4 against (2 were absent). Mayor Hitchcock, using his veto power for the first time since being in office, vetoed their measure (that would have replaced the ban with a licensing system). City council members voted to override his veto (8 in favor, 5 against). 9 votes were needed so the ban remained until a ballot measure was introduced by city council members and the ban repeal passed. Denver voters repealed their ban in 2021
